Nice's Mediterranean Mood: A May Day of Sun, Showers, and Sultry Air

 Nice, the jewel of the French Riviera, a city where the azure of the Mediterranean meets the vibrant ochre of Italianate buildings, greeted this Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, with an atmosphere that was distinctly, perhaps unexpectedly, Mediterranean. It wasn't a day of uninterrupted, blinding sunshine, but rather a dynamic interplay of light and cloud, carrying the possibility of scattered showers and wrapping the city in a mild, humid embrace. The day began early, with the first hints of light appearing over the horizon well before the 6:07 AM CEST sunrise. The air was already mild, a far cry from the crispness felt in cities further north. Temperatures were in the mid-50s Fahrenheit (around 13-14°C), comfortable enough that stepping outside didn't require a heavy coat.
